Outward Beauty vs. Inward Beauty

What if you spent as much time
with the Lord as you did straightening your hair every day?

"Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight." 1 Peter 3:3-4

King's Daughter, think for a second about how much time you spend on your outward appearance.... No, I am not trying to convince you to be a make-up free, frizzy haired girl who "only cares what's inside." I only challenge you to compare how much time you spend on your temporary OUTSIDE BEAUTY versus how much time you spend deepening your relationship with the Lord so HE transforms you heart, soul and mind with eternal INWARD BEAUTY.

Time spent on Outside Beauty: working out, shopping, doing your make-up, straightening or curling hair, choosing an outfit, worrying about how you look, getting others' opinions.
vs.
Time spent with the Lord: enjoying a regal relationship with Him, loving & reading His Word, listening to His voice, connecting with Him through prayer, being still and knowing He is God (Psalm. 46:10)

"But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7

"Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised." Proverbs 31:30

BONUS!! Inward beauty shows up on the outside too!
"Those who look to Him are radiant;" Psalm 34:5
"A happy heart makes the face cheerful," Proverbs 15:13
"For the Lord will be your confidence." Proverbs 3:26
