Who do you know?

“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, And the day of vengeance of our God;To comfort all who mourn, To console those who mourn in Zion,To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord,
that He may be glorified.” Isaiah 61:1-4

Isaiah 61:1-3 was Jesus' mission statement for His time on earth. Before He started His ministry, He read this Scripture in the synagogue (Luke 4:18). King's daughter, as believers, we share the same mission statement as Jesus, "because as He is, so are we in this world." 1 John 4:17
WHO DO YOU KNOW?
who is
brokenhearted
mourning
poor
captive
under the spirit of heaviness

In other words,
WHO DO YOU KNOW?
who is
depressed
insecure or fearful
facing disappointment or rejection
going through a terrible break-up
watching his/her parents going through a divorce
addicted to substances
struggling with an eating disorder
drinking till he/she black-outs every weekend
dealing with the death of a loved one
unsure of his/her future
looking for acceptance from people, places and things.

King's daughter, who do you know? You are in his or her life for a reason! If you have Jesus Christ inside of you, the Spirit of the Lord is upon you to extend comfort, proclaim liberty, preach good tidings (or encourage), and speak truth. As you point your family members, friends, co-workers, or even an acquaintances to Christ, He will heal their wounds, bind their broken heart, and give them beauty for ashes.

Take a minute to think about the people struggling with each of the problems in Isaiah 61:1-3 or the additional list above. Ask for opportunities, wisdom, and boldness to proclaim the truth of God's Word to them. Come alongside them and show them Christ's love. You know the "cure" for their broken heart. You know the remedy for their spirit of heaviness. You hold the secret to their freedom. TELL THEM ABOUT JESUS!
